How Do You Look At Things?

Hello Everyone,

It is quite chilly here today, but I love the fall. It is my favorite season. The leaves are so beautiful and I do enjoy the crispness of the air. When the leaves change colors it reminds me of renewing. The earth is renewing itself during the fall season. Off with the old make room for the new. You may think differently. It's funny how people look at things differently.

Here's a little story my mother-in-law sent me:

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next morning while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her neighbor hanging the wash outside.

"That laundry is not very clean", she said. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap."

Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her neighbor would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband:

"Look, she has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?"

The husband said, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."

And so it is with life. What we see when watching others, depends on the purity of the window through which we look
.

You know sometimes because of life circumstances we do see things the wrong way. Every body's experiences are different, you may see someone and think what a grouch, I may see that she has a lot on her mind. As the little story points out it just depends on how we look at things.

I try to be nice to people. I try to treat everyone fairly. I don't care about impressing the Jones', I never have. They can't do anything for me so I have never bothered. I have always found it difficult to be around people who do that. Who try to impress the Jones', who try to make themselves look better in those peoples eyes. Why? What can they possibly do for you or give you to make you want to act that way?

How do you look at things? Are you a glass half full person or a glass half empty person? Do you automatically think the worse of people or actually give someone a chance? Are you friends with someone just because you like them or you want something from them?

Let's try to remember to treat all people and look at all people the same. It might be really rewarding for you.

Have a blessed day!
