Scripted Sunday - What Brings You Back To Your Childhood

Hello Everyone,

Today is Scripted Sunday over at Block Stalkers Unite. The theme today is 'What Brings You Back To Your Childhood'.

The one thing that always brings me back to my childhood is Disney movies. My father would take us to every Disney movie that came to theaters. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White all the princess' movies, well really, any movie Disney put out we were there. If they were selling records (yes records, not CDs) at the theater he would buy them. I remember playing the Mary Poppins album. Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down, medicine go down, just a . . . well um you get the picture or should I say the song. lol

When my daughter was young I tried to do the same thing. I remember when I first took her to see 'The Little Mermaid'. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. The colors were so vibrant and she loved it!! I knew at that moment how my father must have felt having four of his daughters all giddy and excited leaving the theater talking about the movie we had just watched.

I think that is probably the one thing that I remember about my childhood. It's the feeling I had after watching all of those wonderful movies. A magical feeling of course!

Have a blessed day!

What a great memory. I loved going to all the Disney movies with my mom, too. I remember when they used to re-release a classic every year. I wish they would do that again. I never did get to see Sleeping Beauty on the big screen!

Oh, and I'm visiting from Blog Stalkers Unite. Thanks for letting me stop by!

Hi there, visiting from Blog stalkers...

My mom went to disneyland when she was 7 yrs old and has a drawing that Roy Disney did for her... There are now three generations of disney lovers in our family.

Disney movies, cartoons and the TV show take me back to my childhood. The happy part when Mom was still alive. Oh yeah. Good memories. :o)

I remember that too and it was a HUGE event! There's nothing quite like Disney.

Oh The Little Mermaid was always my favorite! I use to pretend I was her everytime I went in our pool. Well, before I saw Jaws for the first time and then I was scared to death to go in the pool, lol!

What an awesome memory. I love to head back to childhood. I love going back and feeling the moments of warmth and fresh baked cookies. I loved my childhood most of all and I hope I can instill a childhood of awesomeness into my children someday. (even though I am not having any!)
