First off I want to say Happy Birthday to my nephew Cody who is 11 years old today. He had his party this past Saturday at my sisters house. We had a good time, the kids were swimming and we just enjoyed each other's company. Oh and there was food.
Isn't he the cutest thing!
Well alot happened in July. So lets see, Larry lost two good friends. Mike died from a heart attack and Bob was a suicide. He was really upset about Mike's death when he heard about Bob's. Bob and his wife were having problems and I guess he just got real mad and killed her and then he turned the gun on himself. Sad situation. We've been thinking alot about and praying for their families.
Also, Summer was involved in an automobile accident. She was on her way to her house from work when he pulled out of Sammy's and was attempting to go straight accross Valley Avenue. Well, he ran right into her. Tore up her whole front end. She already had the police on the phone when she got out of her vehicle. As she walked toward him, he took off. She had to jump out of his way to keep him from hitting her. Thanks to some witnesses who got his tag number and told police that it appeared he was trying to run over Summer. They haven't found him yet the tag was a Colorado tag and they are trying to locate it now. The good news is she has bought herself a 2007 Ford Ranger, black just like her dad's. I tried to get her to get a car but she has always wanted a truck like Larry's. So Summer told Larry that they had father daughter trucks. Oh she did hurt her back in the accident but was fine about five days later. We are really fortunate that God had his arms around her and was protecting her.
July is always a sad month for us as it is the month that we lost my brother and my grandfather. My grandfather died in 1999 at 77 years old. He was the best grandfather anyone could have asked for and I know he loved us very much. My brother, Ray, was in a car accident on July 26, 1988. Actually he died on that date three times and they brought him back. He stayed in a coma for a week and died on August 1. I will go into further details about my brother on August 5th which I intend to be about remembering him.
But not all has been gloom we did have a wedding, a party and my birthday to celebrate in July. The wedding was fun, after the reception we went to the party and had a good time talking to friends we don't get to see too often anymore. The next day we went and visited with the grooms parents at their house and got caught up.
The next weekend Jackie and Bubba had a party. They have one every few weeks and we always have a good time. Sometimes we karaoke, sometimes we just hang out. Whatever we do we always have a good time and enjoy being with them. At this particular party we met a lot of new people. Bubba's been working at Mercedes about six months now and he had some of his new friends from work there. So it was a bigger crowd. Yes there is drinking but all of you that know me know that I do not partake in that particular activity. I must say though when I do karaoke it's a good thing that they are all drinking. I love to sang but I can't carry a tune.
Now it's time for my birthday which is on July 16. Happy 42nd!! Larry and I didn't do much on my birthday I wanted Outback so we got carry out and went home and ate it. The day before I had went to the Galleria on a shopping spree, again if you know me you know that I don't enjoy spending a lot of time shopping. I usually know what I want, go in and get it and then I'm out of there. So me spending most of that day there was unusal for me. So on my birthday I lounged around the house and visited with Summer and Josh when they came over. She had taken off the day for my birthday to spend the whole day with me (which is what she usually does), but that was a couple of days after her wreck and I told her not to come over but she did anyway and brought me my present. Later in the week we had a dinner at my mother's house with all of my favorite foods and of course ice cream and cake. Summer got to go to the dinner and show everyone her new truck. In our family we always have parties for the kids but usually my sisters and I just take each other out for lunch. So that week I got treated to my birthday lunches. I usually eat lunch with my sisters two to three times a week but on our birthday's we go anywhere the birthday girl wants to go and we don't have to pay for it.
Well that's all I can think of right now. Everyone remember to say a prayer for Brad, he is a boy from Gardendale who was involved in an auto accident.
Have a blessed day!
