Squirrelling Around

Hello Everyone,

When I left for work this morning I noticed that the blind covering our basement door had been torn. About three slats (is that what you call them?) had been pulled down towards the bottom. Hubby is still at home so I called him and asked if he had done it or put anything up against the door that could have fell and broke them. He said no but he had been hearing noise down in the basement yesterday while he was sick.

How weird. So he went down there and was looking around when he was startled by a movement. Somehow a squirrel has found it's way into our basement. The mystery is how? There are only two ways in - the garage door and the basement door. Neither one of them has been opened recently so we are not sure how in the world he got in. Hubby has left the garage door open so hopefully he will run out.

It was only a couple of years ago that we got a couple of squirrels in our attic. We never found out how they got up there but it was a happy ending. We were afraid we were going to have to put out poision because we just couldn't catch them. But they eventually left on their own and hubby went around the roof and the side of the house trying to figure out how they got in. I guess only the squirrels will ever know that.

I'd hate to kill a squirrel I just think they are so cute. My mother-in-law and her last husband use to get so mad at them for eating the seed out of the bird feeders they use to put out in their yard. I never understood why in the world they would get so mad over that. Every time we went over there it was always brought up and that topic would last at least two hours. When you put food in a tree what makes you think a squirrel isn't going to eat it?

So here is a picture of a cute little fellow I found - I wouldn't want to mess with him!

Also SITS is having their Spring Fling on March 3rd. It's where all the participating SITstas are having a giveaway on their blogs. SITS will be having a bunch of prizes all day. I'm participating but don't have a clue as to what I am giving away. I may list a few of my favorite things and pick from there. So if you don't know about it or you don't know about SITS hop on over and check them out.

Now I have a private prayer request. Please remember me and hubby in your prayers.

Have a blessed day!

We've been watching the squirrels on our new birdfeeder today. There's one that is really bold and seems to be in charge. We had to get a new birdfeeder because a squirrel--probably the same one--took the lid OFF our old glass one and got INSIDE it, got STUCK, and broke the glass to get out. I'm not mad, though. The new one is cuter!

Oh, dear, I'd hate to tell what we do to squirrels ... they're awfully tasty in a stew. :o) ♥ ∞

I will be happy to remember you and your hubby in my prayers! Sometimes it is hard to remember that every creature has a purpose on this earth-especially if they are doing something to annoy us. Good luck with the squirrels!
~hope you are having a good week~Tam:D
