Hello Everyone,

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Wow!! I haven’t posted since Sunday – that is so unlike me. I have been extremely busy and have barely had time to squeeze in 3 – 4 hours a day to sleep. I am exhausted!!! After tomorrow though my life is going to return to normal!

I haven’t done a Photo Story Friday in quite a while and when my daughter sent me this picture the other day I knew I had to use it for today.

Photo Story Friday - Football Hat

Hello Everyone,

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Well it has been a while since I have participated in Photo Story Friday! I've missed doing it. Today I want to call your attention to an Easter picture I posted, well I posted it after Easter.

Do you see his Easter basket? It's a football. For quite sometime now Ray has been pushing in the handle of his football Easter basket and wearing it.

We can't ever get a picture of him wearing it but finally the other day my daughter managed to sneak one. How in the world was she able to sneak it? Well as you can see he was totally engrossed in eating Cheerios. lol Food is the only thing that keeps him occupied enough to where you can sneak up on him. lol

Hop over to Cecily's and MamaGeek's blogs to see other participates' Photo Story Friday!

Photo Story Friday & Flashback Friday

Hello Everyone,

Today I am doing both Photo Story Friday and Flashback Friday combined. I enjoy doing both of them and since they are on the same day I decided I would. I hope the hosting sites don't mind.

I am doing senior pictures today. First up is my daughter. She graduated in 2003. Isn't she lovely?

Now it's my turn. This is my senior picture I graduated in 1982.

Now you have heard me mention that my husband reads my blog on weekends. Well if you hear of a man murdering his wife from Alabama this weekend you will know that it was me. lol

This is my husband's senior picture. He graduated in 1976.

He is going to KILL me!! He hated his hair back then but when I met him his hair was down to his waist and he had the prettiest spiral curls I have ever seen. Ladies I have paid big bucks to get my hair to look like my husbands. It is absolutely gorgeous now.

Tomorrow is my grandmother's birthday. She was born on February 21, 1927. She passed away on December 30, 2004. All of us surrounded her bed holding her hand and telling her how much we loved her as she passed away. She was conscious right up until she took her last breath. We prayed with her, we laughed with her and we cried with her as she asked if she was dying. I am sure she came into this world with love but I KNOW she left it surrounded by love. As she left this world the last words she heard was all of us telling her we loved her, we would miss her and we would see her soon. Her last words to us were that she loved us all. She was one of the most important people in my life.

Most of my happy memories were with her and my grandfather. I only had one set of grandparents growing up because my father was an orphan. She always told us that she thought she had to be twice the grandmother for us since she was all we had. She filled that job well. My sisters and brothers and I all knew we were special to her. We were her favorites. We never failed to tell her we loved her and she did the same.

My heart is heavy today and it will be tomorrow because I just miss her so much. She was a strong woman. She lived longer than her husband and three of her children. She was the last one to die out of her four sisters and one brother. She was the youngest in her family.

She would get all giddy when we would go visit and tease her about what a cool grandmother she was. She really was too! She loved to shop. That's where my sisters and daughter gets that from. She was constantly late, we were always waiting on her. She did this silly little dance when a song came on she liked. She was so funny looking when she did this. My sister Angie does a real good imitation of it. lol

But I tell you she would go after you like a mad woman if you threatened her loved ones. I have seen her take a broom to my uncles and wear them out. This is when they were grown men! I have seen her stand up to people twice her size if she felt wronged. She also introduced us to a loving God and our Savior. She was quite a woman. I could go on and on about her!

In her younger days

Grandmother I love you and will always miss you! I hope you know what a saving grace you were to me and my siblings.

WILD HOGS
(redneck style)

Four middle aged friends Larry, Dave, Joe and Jeremy

Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes their way
Yeah they are gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of their guns at once
And explode into space

Ah come on, give me a kiss for the road.

Today my photo is one of my daughter and nephew about 17 years ago.

Let's go way back in time:

The American West

A time when after wrestling cattle, breaking broncos and riding the plains a cowboy just wanted to stroll into the local saloon to wet his whistle. He was in no mood for a barefooted flirty big buxom saloon girl to whittle him out of his hard earned cash. As for the saloon girl, another night of entertaining dirty, dusty and smelly cowboys for what? Pennies I tell you!

Have a blessed day!

Today is my grandfather's birthday. He would have been 87. He passed away on July 6, 1999. It'll be ten years this year and I find it hard to believe that he has been gone that long. I love all of the pictures of my grandfather where he is smiling.

He was probably the most important and influentual man in my life. He fought in World War 2 leaving his wife and children. Everyone knows that those were hard times. We were fortunate that my grandfather, Pap, made it home. Here is a picture of him with his troop.

You can't see him but he is in the middle towards the back. I remember some of his stories and I am so proud of him. It makes me think about all the families whose husbands, fathers and sons are in foreign lands today. The families who are relocating so that they can be near their husbands and dads. The families that leave their home state and families to follow their loved one. They all are sacrificing for each and everyone of us.

This is a picture of my parents with my grandparents. When we were on dialysis I got to visit with him alot. He had the shift before me but sometimes he wouldn't be done and we got machines next to each other. We would just talk and have time together. He always called us girls by our names followed by baby. Valerie baby. lol I love and miss him so much.

Happy Birthday Pap!!

Have a blessed day!

Today my picture is of Ray and his Paw playing the guitar. Ever since he was little Larry has been getting out the guitar and playing it. Ray has started to strum (hit) the strings while his Paw was playing. Now Ray will take his Paw by the hand and lead him into the bedroom to get the guitar to play. On Christmas morning while we were all playing Guitar Hero Ray grabbed his Paw's hand and they came out with the guitar. Here are a couple of pictures of them "playing".

Ok so I added the last one of his reaching for me because that's one of my favorites.

I am getting ready to watch Alabama play Utah in the Sugar Bowl. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! I hope we bring home a win!!

Your Merry Christmas may depend on what others do for you. But your Happy New Year depends on what you do for others.

Have a blessed day!
