Happy Birthday and Aloha Friday!

Hello Everyone,

Today is my darling wonderful cutie patootie grandsons birthday!! I can't believe that he is already 2!!! He is such a joy to be around and so darn smart!! Here he is at his cousins birthday earlier this month. He loved whacking that pinata, I had already bought him one for his party. I didn't know my sister was going to have one too. But anyway hers was a butterfly and his is his favorite cartoon character Diego!!! That is his party theme. We are celebrating it on Sunday and I will be running by his house tonight to give him his birthday day present. So Happy Birthday Baby Boy Grammy Loves You!!!!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

We are big Survivor fans at my house. When it first started years ago they would let you bring a luxury item with you. So . . .

My question today is:

What would be your luxury item?

My answer:

My luxury item would have to be my Bible. It comforts me to read His word and let's me know that I am under His care always!!

A Sprinkle Baby Shower

Hello Everyone,

Well the time is approaching fast! My daughter is having her baby shower on August 15th. It is a Sprinkle Baby Shower since it is her second baby. We are only sprinkling her with the necessities because she already has all the big stuff. Well I do need to find a reasonable side-by-side double stroller. The one she picked out costs $714.00 – you just have to know my daughter.

Here are a couple of pics from her last baby shower that I posted here.

This is the diaper cake I made – my first one! I was really proud of it.

This is the baby sock bouquet I made and the corsage I bought.

This is the baby wreath I made – my first one again!

So it hasn’t been that long since I have been to a baby shower but I was wondering have any of you been to one lately? I am looking for some fresh food ideas, favors and you know just stuff like that. I’ll be meeting with the other 5-6 people who are helping with the shower this week so I wanted to do some things a little different than her first one. Oh and look I get another one of these in a little over a month!

Blog Hop Tuesday

Hello Everyone,

Join me for Confessions of A Moody Mommy’s Blog Hop Tuesday!

Today’s mission is to post a favorite picture. So here is ONE of my favorite pictures of my grandson. FW91082

It was taken when he was 9 months old (he’s 21 months now). He was not happy about the bandana that his mother and his Paw put on his head. He kept pulling it off until I think he gave up. This is the result. lol Love this kid!!

Have a blessed day!

20 Months Old

Hello Everyone,

Today my grandson is 20 months old. I can't believe that he is getting so big. Just a cute little story then a video for your entertainment. My daughter called me the other day and said "I think Ray is ready to be potty trained." I said "Why?" She replied "He followed his dad into the bathroom and copied what he was doing. He pulled it out and then put it back in." So after laughing I said "Yeah it's time". She said "Oh I'm not done, after they came back into the living room and he sat down to play a little bit, he stood up, pulled it out and then peed right there on the spot." lol He has been telling us for a couple of months now that he has peed in his diaper. He has patted his butt and said "caca". So I think it is definitely time. He is right on time because I have read that 18 - 24 months is the ideal time to do it.

Ok on to the video. Yesterday Summer, Ray and I had lunch together. I met them at the restaurant and we were having a good time. We noticed that Ray was dozing off. Now when his mother was young she would walk in her sleep. We always had to make sure that the doors were locked so that she couldn't get out. She now sleeps against the wall so that she has to climb over her husband if she walks, that way she will wake him up and he can monitor her like we use to do. Now Ray talks in his sleep. LOUD. He also, it seems, eats in his sleep.

Sorry about the turning of the video. Yes he is trying to eat the end of the table. He never did wake up. lol Oh and by the way right after that we went and got his hair cut. lol Until next time

Have a blessed day!

Grandparenting Time

Hello Everyone,

ROLL TIDE TOLL!!!!! We didn't win but I am proud of our boys!! We have the same record as Florida but will have to pull for them in the National Championship game. Wow what a game but the CRIMSON TIDE has had a great season! Sugar bowl here we come! Congratulations to all the players, coaches and to the BAMA NATION! Congratulations to Florida.

So today we are getting our grandbaby for the day. We are going to go visiting the great grandparents and the aunties and cousins. Once again I am so grateful to my daughter and SIL for letting us get him as much as we do. I only say this because I actually know people whose children do not ever let them have their grandchildren. I understand some of their children's reasons, a lot of them don't because their parents don't make the children mind. They let them brake all of the rules and then send them home. This is really only hurting the children cause when they get home they misbehave and get in trouble.

As grandparents we have to abide by our children's rules for their children. I may not always agree with them but they are their children. I remember how I use to get mad with my mom for telling me I should do this or that. So when my grandchild is with me I have my own rules and I have my daughters. I would hate to think that because of me he gets in trouble when he goes home because I was lax in grandparenting him (is there such a word? lol). Of course I am no expert, I have only been a Grammy for a year, however this is the main reason I have heard for kids not letting their parents keep their kids. I think it's sad because I would hate it if my daughter wouldn't let me keep my Ray.

Speaking of my Ray he is already jumping from the couch, rolling on the ground and jumping up and laughing. Like a commando. Now I just think that he is way to young for this kind of activity. I only had one girl, no boys, but I don't even remember my nephews doing that until they were at least 2. Any of you mom's with boys, did any of yours do this at such an early age? If so, how in the world am I going to keep up with him? lol

I do look forwad to the day he can say Grammy. He already says Nana, Papa and Paw. So that covers all the grandparents but me. He calls me "Duck". Speaking of grandparents before Josh's grandmother died last month, Ray had 16 grandparents, great-grandparents and step-grandparents. All of which love to spoil him. He can even say a couple of their names like Gigi and Pops. So why can't he at least say Gram or Gam instead of "Duck"? I guess I should feel lucky though everybody else is "Dog".

I guess I need to go, got to make sure the house is child proof so that Ray can have the run of it. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Have a blessed day!
