MM – Rainy Days and Mondays

Hello Everyone,

I was awaken a couple of hours ago by the sound of heavy rain. This song immediately came to mind. Although I am not feeling sad I always enjoy listening to Karen Carpenter’s voice. So today for Musical Monday I give you Rainy Days and Mondays by The Carpenters.

Talking to myself and feeling old
Sometimes Id like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hanging around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothing is really wrong
Feeling like I don't belong
Walking around some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny but it seems I always wind up here with you
Its nice to know somebody loves me
Funny but it seems that its the only thing to do
To run and find the one who loves me

What I feel is come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what its all about
Hanging around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Funny but it seems that its the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me

What I feel is come and gone before
No need to talk it out
We know what its all about
Hanging around, nothing to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

Hanging around, nothing do to but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down

The proper song for my morning would be "White Christmas"! Seriously! I live in Hudson, WI (on Wisconsin/MInnesota border) and we have at 2-3 inches so far - and it's 8am)This is crazy early - even for us! Yikes!

Love your song, though...Karen Carpenter had such a beautiful voice, didn't she? Happy Monday!

I don't know if it's the rain or the Monday or both or something else, but it has DEFINITELY been one of those days!!!

Not actually rainy, but just a dreary Monday here.
This is the song that made me fall in love with the Carpenters. I remember hearing once that the recorded version on their album was the one and only take - Karen's voice was so perfect, she rarely needed to repeat anything. What a tragic loss for the world.

I love this song. I always think of it when it's a rainy Monday! I remember listening to their album, the one with all the hits on it... the Brown album I think it was called... Loved it.
